I've reached the end of another sketchbook and thought I'd post up some of the pages. Sketchbooks are full of stuff and obviously I've picked some of the better pages. Cos I draw straight in pen a lot of stuff looks like complete shit, but that's kinda how I like it.
Another lil sneak of the next Ronin Dogs. I know it doesn't make much sense but don't worry, when you see the page in context it still won't make sense. Just go with it.
I thought I might talk a bit about the 'process' I use 'writing' Ronin Dogs as I don't think it's a way that many would use. Or maybe they would, I dunno. But, I basically wing it (that's the technical term). With this episode for example I have general idea of what I want to happen and what characters are involved, but other than that I make it up as I go along. Look at something like Curb your Enthusiasm or Spinal Tap. Not that I'm thinking I'm as good as them but I like how they improvise scenes. Ronin Dogs is kinda like that. I think my main problem is I get bored easily. If I wrote and thumbnailed the whole story out first I think I'd get bored drawing it. But doing it like this keeps it fresh for me. Which is much more fun and fun is why I do this.
Here's a sneaky peak at the next Ronin Dogs. Really pleased with how it's going. Learned a lot from the first issue. Putting it to good use for this. More backgrounds, flat black etc...
The first issue has been selling well and feedback has been really good. So chuffed! It's available to buy in Page 45 in Nottingham if you're near there. They've had pre-orders for it apparently. How cool is that?! Very!
If you want a copy for yourself don't forget to go pick one up here.
Just a couple o' bits. Can't believe I didn't post up my Vagabond Prime pic coloured by the awesome Jon Paul Bove. Check out more of his work here. Also a quick pic I did inspired from a Facebook conversation.
The next Ronin Dogs is going really well. I'm so psyched drawing it. I keep wanting to dance around with excitement which is difficult when you're trying to sit down and draw. I'm not going to post as many pages as the first Ronin Dogs but I will post some pages. I'll post some very soon.
Don't forget to head over to my shop to get yourself a copy of Ronin Dogs. :)
I know it's been a while since I posted. Things have been a bit crazy and I havn't had much time to draw lately. But back on track now. And starting the next Ronin Dogs. The first page of which you can see here. It's gonna be much more epic-er than the first issue. More thought out and just generally betterer. I'll be introducing a new companion to our heroes too. Gonna be fun!
Also, you can now buy your very own copy of Ronin Dogs: Hooray! So go pick a copy!
